Obituary
ROCKY MOUNT – Linny Dale Pridgen, age 63, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 17, 2025. Born in Nash County, NC on February 17, 1962, He was the son of the late Elma Lee Pridgen and Sarah “Daphine” Privette Pridgen. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Timothy Lee Pridgen, Anthony Miles Pridgen, and Barry Elmer Pridgen.
Linny Dale Pridgen dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving the Stony Creek Fire – Rescue Department in Rocky Mount, and his time there was nothing short of fulfilling, life-changing, and gratifying. Helping people was at the core of Linny’s service, and he took great pride in being able to make a difference in the lives of others. In addition to his Fire – Rescue career, Linny was also an accomplished electrician, using his skills to assist numerous individuals throughout the years. Linny’s faith played a significant role in his life, and he was a long-time member of the North Rocky Mount Church of God. His unwavering belief and spiritual values were of utmost importance to him, shaping the way he approached his work and interactions with others.
Linny is survived by his sister-in-law, Vickie Alford Pridgen; his nephew, Clifton Lee Pridgen and wife, Jessica; his special niece, Katie Pridgen Lamm and her husband, Tommy.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Linny’s life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Tim Dean officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank a few people that have been with Linny the last several days, Jeff Levy, Mark Dugan, Samuel Pridgen and all the nurses at UNC Nash for their kindness, care and love.
