Obituary

ROCKY MOUNT – Nell “Rusty” Turner Baker, age 77, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Born in Nash County, NC on April 25, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Joseph “Joe” Turner and Betty Turner. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lou Adams.

Rusty is survived by her husband of 30 years, Keith Baker; her brothers, John Gray Turner and Monroe Turner and wife, Dot; her sisters, Jeanette Collie and Evelyn Driver and husband, Harry; and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Nell’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum with Rev. Wayne Mills officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the front suite of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
