Obituary for Michael Allen Parker
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Allen Parker, who departed this life on May 13, 2025. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, Michael was the beloved son of the late Zelmar Allen Parker and Lou Allie Boone. A man of deep love and devotion, he cherished his family, friends and animals throughout his life.
Michael proudly served his country as a dedicated member of the U.S. Army, where he was part of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. His commitment to service reflected his courage and unwavering dedication to his country. He found joy in watching NFL football, shooting pool, a passion that brought him many moments of excitement.
Michael leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Tammy Smith Parker, and his three daughters: Melissa Ann Delagrange of Florida, Taryn Parker Killebrew (Ronnie) of Rocky Mount, and Briona Allie McGinnis (Gerry) of Rocky Mount, seven cherished grandchildren: Aydan Killebrew, Kaitlin Smith, Kenneth Parker, Timothy Medlin, Caleb Delagrange, Allie McGinnis, and Audrey McGinnis, along with his two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his two sisters, Dolores Parker Maddox and Annette Parker Skinner (Wayne), as well as his niece Kristy Gaskins (Dion). Michael’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and the bonds of family.
Visitation with family and friends will be from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025. Entombment service with Military Honors will be held Saturday at 10:30 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Mausoleum, where Michael will be laid to rest.
Michael will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His warmth, generosity, and dedication to his loved ones will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him
